Commemorating Our Fallen Heroes
Join us for the Emerald Isle Memorial Day community run and walk event which is scheduled for May 25th, 2026 . This event is held in commemoration of our military members who made the ultimate sacrifice - and the families and friends who carry their memory forward. Men, women, and children of all ages are encouraged to take part in the event as a way of honoring our fallen brothers and sisters and showing support for those left behind. The course is a 3 mile scenic run along Emerald Drive in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, and starts in the Emerald Isle Public Parking lot area (2701 Emerald Dr, Emerald Isle, NC 28594). The first event will be a flag raising at 0800, followed by a welcoming speech by the mayor and a solemn prayer. The race is scheduled to begin at 0815. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. Donations are accepted at the event, at the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation booth.
If you’re able, please show your support — whether by making a donation, joining as a race participant, or cheering on the athletes as they cross the finish line in tribute to our fallen heroes.
Event Registration
Online registration opens on March 15 and closes on May 15. Early registration is encouraged to ensure your spot!
- Registration Cost: $25.00 per participant age 18+, and $15 for under 18.
- Participants receive:
- Free event t-shirt
- Commemorative water bottle
- Event towel
- Participation medal
Donations are also accepted for those who wish to support the foundation without participating in the run.
Post-Run Community Celebration
After the race, stay for our community celebration featuring:
- Food trucks and local artisans
- Live music and entertainment
- Games, rides, and family fun
Rules & Logistics
- Strollers, Bicycles, & Pets: For the safety of the participants (and per city ordinance) strollers, bicycles, and pets are permitted in designated walk ways only and not on the running course.
